A small little coastal village situated between the towns of Sedgefield and Knysna on the Garden Route coastline of South Africa, inside the Goukamma Marine and Coastal Reserve. It consists of only 200 houses and a shop / restaurant complex. This allows one to really unwind, kick back and relax for some well deserved down time. Besides serving its purpose for the small number of permanent residents, it has served as a favourite family holiday destination for generations of South Africans, and people who have spent a holiday/s here often make life long friends.
With endless beaches stretching in both directions along the coast, you will be hard pressed to find a better place to clear your mind. The younger kids build sand castles on the beach while mom tans under the umbrella, the teenagers try and outdo each other in the surf, while the older teens and young adults check each other out before tonight’s beach party (with the folks consent, of course).
Besides the obvious ocean related activities, there are ample opportunities to keep yourself busy with excellent golf courses in Knysna (Simola, Pezula, etc.), world class mountain biking in the Knysna Forest and surrounds, as well as great hiking and birding, not to mention the superb retsaurants and bistro’s around town.

A modern house in a rustic coastal village, Olikoloni has stunning views of Buffalo Bay’s Wildside beach and ocean. It boasts modern facilities, three stories, big kitchen, and much more.
A beautiful view, a stone’s throw away from the main beach and shop, a quite street even in busy times - what more could you want from a holiday beach house?
Fairly modern, with a large lounge and spacious dining area, this house is situated high up on the slopes above Buffalo Bay. From here you can see both the main beach as well as the wildside, all while sipping on your cocktails at sundown!
Closer to the beach will be hard to get, coupled with ample room for the whole family and/or friends, you could almost stay forever!
With decks on both sides of the house, you can follow the sun all day: in the morning with a cup of steaming artisan coffee (you don’t still drink instant, do you?!), and late afternoon with a G&T or craft beer, all after a hard days relaxing on the endless beaches.
What looks like a small flat from the front parking lot opens up into a sizable house with absolutely amazing views form the spacious wooden decks. Coupled with a quaint braai area and good lighting, as well as modern facilities, this is a must rent!
A deck to watch the sunset from, a built in braai to perfectly prepare that fillet, and lots of natural light inside the house makes this a perfect holiday getaway house.
With one of the best views, this is most certainly a house worth considering. Close to the shop and main beach, a super deck from which to watch the ocean and weather roll by, while enjoying a freshly brewed coffee (morning), or sundowner (late afternoon) with family and friends.
One of the older houses on Buffalo Bay, and the most secluded: ideally situated at the end of the main beach towards Brenton on Sea. It has a large lawn, right on the beach, and stunning views of the ocean - what more could you want?
Taking its name from the upper most road in Buffalo Bay (Panorama Street), this house is a good mix of modern and old school. Well constructed wooden decks surround a slightly more historical interior, although this doesn’t matter much since you’ll be outdoors most of the time!
Part of the larger Oase Complex, this house is on the in between level. But even so, it still has great views, large veranda with deck chairs, modern kitchen and is centrally located.
This is a magnificent house to make your home for the holidays. Centrally located, it’s a short walk to either the main beach or wildside. After a long day of chasing the sun, you can relax on the wooden deck leading out from the main lounge, or head to the roof for a unique sun-downer experience.
A little higher on the hill, with a view, this is a great house for a family vacation where everyone needs their space, or would like to congregate in the large communal areas - did we mention the view?
As the name suggests ("All Sides Beautiful"), you would struggle to find a poor view from this amazing beach house. Watch the sunset, watch the sunrise, watch some whales, or just watch what the people down on the beach are doing - or join them for a swim!
Very centrally located, this house gives you options: the same distance to the main beach or wildside beach, take a sundowner on the deck along with a braai, or enjoy a family dinner inside in the big open plan kitchen and living area.
IMPORTANT – please remember to specify the name of the house in your inquiry, along with the rental period!
